International students attend annual meeting with USU administration
On October 13, international students of Ulyanovsk State University took part in an annual meeting with top USU administrators, which gave members of the international community a chance to discuss their issues of concern related to studies and life on campus.
Among the other officials present at the meeting were head of Youth policy and social work department Evgenia Kameraus, director of Intrenational education center Marina Denisova, head of Resources protection department Vyacheslav Makeev, chair of Student union Pyotr Ofitserov, head of International relations department Faina Izmaylova.
The student’s questions concerned, among other things, the cost of studies, dormitory rules and regulations, internship and summer employment opportunities offered by Russian enterprises and organizations.
Another category of questions regarded immigration requirements for foreign citizens - expert advice on these matters was offered by an invited guest, acting director of foreign citizens registration department within Russian Federal Migration Service, Viktoria Tyutyunik.
Ms. Tytyunik provided detailed information on registration and employment rules for foreign citizens temporarily staying in Russia, and clarified visa procedures, including visa processing, issuance, extension, cancellation.
As part of the meeting, rector Kostishko ceremoniously presented certificates of appreciation to medical faculty students, Obinna Nwankwo, Chizoba Nwachukwu and Dennis Nyarko, for successful participation in the course for CIS students and young doctors offered by the Eurasian Oncology Federation and recently held in Suzdal, Russia.
