USU students win the International Universiade in Anatomy
Students of the Institute of Medicine, Physical Culture and Rehabilitation took part in the II Moscow International Universiade on Human Anatomy "Anatom and I", which was held at Sechenov Moscow State Medical University. The team of USU "Vitruvian Man" took third place in the team event and won the nomination "The best creative performance of the team." The Universiade included two rounds. At the first stage, the students came up with the name of the team, motto and logo, made a crossword puzzle and a video business card. At the second stage, the participants showed various anatomical structures on cadavers, demonstrated knowledge of Latin terminology, guessed the skeleton bones blindly, collected parts of the brain for speed and solved each other's tasks compiled in the first stage. During the Universiade, the teams needed to solve a special collection with tasks, the questions of which were related to the history of medicine, in addition, there were tasks for non-standard thinking from various sections of anatomy.
USU team members Vadim Pyanzin (captain), Andrei Eliseev, Daria Troshina, Maria Elias and Azat Minsafin note that the Universiade gave them the opportunity to get immersed into the beautiful world of anatomy and test their knowledge at a high level, there was even more desire to participate in such events.
The heads of the trip were Marina Vorotnikova, the head of the educational department of the normal human anatomy department, and Julia Zerkalova, assistant professor of human anatomy. Prize-winners and winners of anatomy contests Ekaterina Sergatenko and Irina Kolodiy also helped in preparing for the Universiade.
