USU students are prize winners of the International Student Universiade in Human Anatomy “Anatom and I”
The 1st Moscow International Student
Universiade on Human Anatomy “Anatom and I” was held at the Department of Human
Anatomy of Sechenov Moscow State Medical
The universiade was opened by Marina Kinkulkina, the
dean of the Faculty of Medicine, professor, doctor of medical sciences,
corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. She welcomed all the
participants, wished success and good luck to students.
“Any contest is a competition that requires that participants should demonstrate their knowledge and skills in the field of one or several disciplines, behind which is enormous work, perseverance, the desire to learn new things and the desire to win,” said Marina Arkadyevna.
Head of the Department of Anatomy Vladimir Nikolenko, Doctor of Medicine, Professor of the Department of Human Anatomy also spoke with a welcoming speech. He spoke about the order and rules of work of the universiade and presented the organizers of the event.
Maria Zolotareva, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Anatomy, presented all the teams, familiarized those present with the order of the contest, wished everyone victories, good luck and vivid memories from the universiade.
A tour was conducted for the participants of the universiade to the museums of the Department of Anatomy and the structural subdivisions of the Department.
The contest was provided in five rounds of tasks:
A team’s greeting (a team’s presentation on video, the motto and emblem, the crossword with anatomical terminology).
Improvisation contest (silent display and guessing of the organs of the human body).
Competitions “Anatomy in arithmetic” “Anatomical associations”
Competition “Anatomy in Anatomy” (practical skills on cadaver material)
Competition “Anatomical language” (knowledge of anatomical terms in Latin)
14 teams (90 participants) from medical and pediatric universities of Russia: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Omsk, Kursk, Yoshkar-Ola, Grozny, Saratov, Kabardino-Balkaria and others took part in the contest.
All teams performed well at the contest, demonstrating good knowledge of human anatomy, and were awarded with certificates and diplomas.
T.Z. Biktimirov Facult of Medicine of the Institute of Medicine, Ecology and Physical Culture of Ulyanovsk State University was represented by the team of second year students: Olesya Filippova, Yakov Popondopolo, Evgeny Zemskov, Svetlana Andrusyak, Victoria Lebedeva. The team leader is Associate Professor of the Human Anatomy Department, Yuliya Feliksovna Zerkalova, who also participated in the work of the contest as a juror. The team successfully coped with all the tasks and took third place.
