The student of USU is one of the winners of the contest of young scientists  "Science Slam"

On December 15 in the creative space club "Quarter"  the final stage of the regional contest "Science Slam" was held. "Science Slam" is a unique platform for young scientists that helps them to bring out their potential. In total 22 applications were submitted for participation in the contest. As a result of selection rounds eight projects (two projects from each higher education institution of the Ulyanovsk region)  reached the final. Participants presented the results of scientific researches in an unusual way for the judgment of the audience and jury. So, the graduate student of USAA Dmitry Akimov demonstrated  danger of infection of dogs  stung by ticks , and USU students  Evgenia Rozhkova and Maria Levchuk gave judges an opportunity  to take part in a crowd funding process  resulted in a delicious cake.

The board comprising chiefs of the Council of young scientists at the Governor’ office  and also the representatives of higher education institutions of the region chose the winners:

1 place - a postgraduate student of USAA Akimov Dmitry;

2 place - a postgraduate student of USAA Zakharova Darya;

3 place – a student of USU Andreyev Alexey.

For the first time at the initiative of Sergey Morozov the winners and prize-winners of the contest were rewarded with money. The winner received 60 thousand rubles, "silver" and "bronze" prize-winners – 40 and 20 thousand rubles respectively.


The Ministry of Education and Science of the Ulyanovsk region sponsored the contest. Students, master program students, postgraduate students and young scientists aged from 18 to 35  took part in the competition.
