Students expect stipends to be increased since September
2015-08-26 16:46

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation considers that in September, 2015 stipends  will be adjusted according to  the level of real inflation, that is approximately by 12%. The Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Dmitry Livanov declared about it during his working trip to the Vladimir region. The minister noted that this adjustment would be supported by the government.

Since January, 2015 many students have began to feel negative influence of price increase  in the Russian Federation, first of all for socially significant goods and services. Many families were forced to reduce or refuse support to students considerably , making them  earn independently  for  their subsistence. In view of  insufficiency of vacancies on the labor market  it makes this problem worse and has a negative effect on the process of training.

In the spring of 2015 the Student coordination council of the All-Russian Labor union of education addressed  the Russian Prime Minister D. A. Medvedev and the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation S.E. Naryshkin with a request not to stop legislative standard of the federal law "About education in the Russian Federation" regarding the extent of annual adjustment of scholarship funds. We welcome  this  positive decision on our address and we support measures of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in systematic work in this field.

Additional means of scholarship funds first of all will be allocated to support students showing academic progress  who are in a difficult life situation.
