737805 copies the volume of the library holdings at USU on 31.12.2016;

GRADUATES:

49383 certified specialists were graduated by university from 1992to 2016,

of them 2427 in 2016, including with higher education:

1165 full-time;

655 part-time;

18 by external studies;

7- full-time and part-time form of education;

among graduates of 2016:

502 students of vocational schools;

43 graduates of the USU Inza branch (with higher education: 9 full time students, 34 external forms of education);

44 foreign citizens.

EMPLOYMENT OF GRADUATES:

In 2016 1969 applications from the enterprises and the agencies of Ulyanovsk and Ulyanovsk region were received for 1174 graduates with higher education of full-time education (including accelerated programs and Inza branch office).

1158 people (99%) were employed, among them:

543 people (46,3%) employed at enterprises and organizations of the region;

398 people (34%) continue training, of them 5 at postgraduate school, 186 take internship and residency programs;

79 people (6,7%) went to other regions, 49 of them found jobs in other regions, 30 people continue studying;

122 people (10,4%) were called up for military service;

16 people (1,4%) are on maternity leave.

TRAINING OF SPECIALISTS IN INTERNSHIP, RESIDENCY PROGRAMS,

POSTGRADUATE EDUCATION, DOCTORAL STUDIES:

523 people are trained according to higher education programs of the 3d level

in the 20162017academic year, of them:

216 number of postgraduate students (212 people) and competitors (4 people) in 50 programs of postgraduate study;

3,4 specific number of postgraduate students for 100students;

11,1% postgraduates who defended dissertations within the term of their training;

13% ratio of the thesis defense number by postgraduate students within one year after graduation to the number of postgraduates admitted in the corresponding year; on average in 5years 15,2%;

131 work towards a degree on 16 internship programs;

175 work towards a degree on 39 residency programs.

20 PhD theses were defended by postgraduate students, competitors and staff members of USU in 2016;

THE AMOUNT OF FINANCING FOR RESEARCHES AND DEVELOPMENT OF RESEARCH MATERIAL AND RESOURCE BASE:

190,7 million rubles overall amount at USU in 2016;

233,8 thousand rubles per 1scientific and pedagogical worker.

DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES:

1909 total number of computers at the university, of them:

1858 (97%) have been integrated into the corporate local computer network on the basis of fiber-optical data channels with the distributed system of the specialized servers providing Internet connection;

48 total number of university computer classes;

57 access points of the wireless Wi-Fi network;

In 2016the implementation of the project Electronic campus together with the Joint Stock Company Sberbank was launched. The first stage of this project consists in introducing the control and management system of access to campus buildings and electronic library development;

In 2016the automated system of managing the academic process 1°C: Universitet Prof was put into operation;

In 2015the overall Internet access channel capacity went up to 130 Mb/s

the automated system Matrix 42Physical (Empirum) for managing information and telecommunication assets has been operating at USU since 2015;

since 2013a new web portal abiturient.ulsu.ru for prospective students has been operating;

since 2012the system of wireless access to the Internet on the Wi-Fi technology for students and teachers has gained active development;

since 2011the system of corporate telephony on the basis of the VoIP technology has been used;

since 2011work of the university structural divisions has been performed in the system of electronic document flow Dokumentooborot-Prof;

since 2010the control system of educational process Tandem University has been implemented;

since 2009the control system of the USU website content has been operating;

since 2008regular sessions of video lectures for the Inza branch office have been carried out;

since 2007the equipment allowing to carry out video conferences has been modernized; the Center of telemedicine got new development;

the Competence Center Aviation Technologies and Aviation Mobility operates at university equipped with the software of the leading foreign and Russian developers and a powerful server infrastructure;

since 2006the Science and technology park USU high technologies has been functioning that has the working areas equipped with modern computers and office equipment;

since 2004the cooperation with Microsoft Corporation, Sun Microsystems, SAP AG, Autodesk, 1C, etc. has intensively been developing;

since 2002the department for working out electronic textbooks and creating modern educational resources and training technologies has been operating.

INTEGRATION IN REGIONAL AND ALL-RUSSIAN INFORMATION AND EDUCATION SPACE:

USU official web-site has become available on Cyrillic domain name . since 2015

the University is the regional center of the federal university telecommunication network of RUNNet, providing higher educational institutions of the region, schools, healthcare and cultural institutions with access to information and telecommunication services of the network;

the Center of Telemedicine providing the introduction of up-to-date information technologies into scientific practical activities, preparation of highly qualified personnel and postdegree professional development of health workers of the city and region has been functioning since 2002;

in partnership with the state scientific centers, Russian Academy of Sciences and Russian Academy of Education, scientific and educational centers (SEC) of USU operate: Center of experimental biology and medicine (has been operating together with Institute of physiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 2007); Center of laser, fiber-optical and radiation technologies (has been operating together with Scientific center of fiber optics of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 2007); Center of radiation technologies (has been operating together with JSC State Research Center of atomic reactors since 2004); Center of mathematical and computer modeling (has been operating together with the Computer center named after A.A. Dorodnizyna RAS since 2008); Center in the field of pedagogics and psychology (has been operating together with Psychological institute of Russian Academy of Education since 2005);

Lyceum No. 40affiliated with USU is the federal platform of the innovative educational program League of RUSNANO schools, it took second place in the independent public professional performance appraisal of Russian schools.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION:

as structural divisions of the Institute of International Relations the Russian-German and Russian-American faculties implement joint academic programs and help university students to have training and practical training in Germany and the USA who receive the corresponding diplomas and certificates;

cooperation agreements have been concluded with foreign partner higher education institutions of USU in the USA, Germany, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Poland, Finland, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, India, Vietnam;

according to the signed contracts on cooperation USU conducts collaboration with higher education institutions of the neighboring countries: the universities of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Ukraine, Azerbaijan;

In 20164 students of the Russian-American and Russian-German faculties left for foreign higher education institutions to continue training according to dual diploma programs;

568 foreign citizens (431 students of higher education, 2 postgraduate students, 2 residents, 4 interns, 17 students of Secondary Professional Education, 104 listeners of the preparatory course and 8 listeners of the Faculty of Culture and Art) from the 37 countries of neighboring countries and beyond are trained at USU.

TOTAL AREA OF BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES:

201349,59 sq.m total area of buildings, rooms and facilities of indoor and outdoor type in 2016, of them:

112830,77 sq.m area of buildings and indoor rooms;

88518,82 sq.m area of plate structures and outdoor objects.

TOTAL BALANCE COST of USU KEY ASSETS:

1752045,456 thousand rubles, including 260743,317 thousand rubles under the extra budget (including the Inza branch office and recreation camp “Chaika”).
