Research Institute of Technology named after S.P. Kapitsa
The unit is responsible for implementing scientific, scientific and educational programs and the commercialization of innovative projects, projects for the creation and development of innovative infrastructure, as well as the coordination of the scientific and educational divisions of USU, divisions that are a part of the innovative infrastructure of USU, in priority areas for the development of science and technology.
Priority areas of research and innovation activities of the Research Institute of Technology of USU:
- “Laser technology and nanophotonic technology”. The area is developing in close cooperation with the Physics and Engineering Faculty, Institute of Medicine and Physical Culture, RAS, IOF RAS, etc. The person in charge of the area is I. Zolotovsky. The team carries out projects in the framework of the Federal Targeted Program for Research and Development in Priority Areas for the Development of the Scientific and Technological Complex of Russia for 2014–2020, grants from the Russian Science Foundation and a grant from the Government of the Russian Federation for state support of scientific research conducted under the guidance of leading scientists in Russian educational institutions of higher professional education (Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of 09.04.2010 No. 220) and others. In 2018, the amount of R&D funding in this area amounted to more than 94.1 million rubles, and the results of work on this field in 2018 are presented in 60 publications indexed in the leading systems of scientific citation Scopus and Web of Science, 4 protection documents of intellectual property.
- “Radiation technologies”. The person in charge of this field is Svetukhin V.V. The work is carried out as part of the programs of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Russian Federal Property Fund, the Federal Target Program «Research and Development in Priority Directions for the Development of the Russian Science and Technology Complex for 2014–2020.» The total amount of project financing in 2018 in this area is about 157 million rubles. The high research potential of USU, as well as the developed cooperation with enterprises in the nuclear industry, allowed this partnership to win three times in the competitive selection held by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science in accordance with Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 218 “On measures of state support for the development of cooperation of Russian higher educational institutions and organizations, implementing complex projects to create high-tech production "(in the period 2016–2018, the project" Development and implementation based on A About the “Institute of Reactor Materials” for the production of ionizing radiation sources to ensure the development of radionuclide therapy. ” In 2018, 11 articles in scientific journals indexed in the scientific citation systems Web of Science and Scopus were published in this area, 11 documents of protection for intellectual property were obtained.
- “Personified Nuclear Medicine” This area was formed in 2017 in the
framework of the strategic project “Science = Energy of the Region” in the
Development Program of USU as a regional preeminent university. The person in
charge of the area is Saenko Yu.V. In order to expand the capabilities of USU
in attracting orders for R&D in the reporting period, a package of
documents was prepared for accrediting the field for activities with sources of
ionizing radiation. In 2018, funding in this area amounted to more than 10
- “Robotics” The area was also formed in 2017 in the framework of the strategic project “Science = Energy of the Region” in the Development Program of USU as a regional preeminent university. The person in charge of the area is Sobolev A.A. In 2018, work was carried out to develop and manufacture modification elements for a scanning electron microscope Zeiss EVO series for JSC SSC RIAR and the second stage of R&D “Development and creation of a robotic complex with an intelligent control system for working in hot chambers at enterprises of the nuclear industry”. The amount of R&D funding in this area in 2018 amounted to 23.6 million rubles.
Since 2014, USU has been conducting an expert review of materials science and technology for the Rosatom integrated project “Breakthrough” related to the creation of fast neutron reactors with liquid metal coolants.
“Ecology. Environmental Consulting”
The area is developing on the basis of the chemical-analytical laboratory of USU RIT. Every year, the team performs work on orders of industrial enterprises from various regions of the Russian Federation.
In 2018, RIT employees performed R&D with a total volume of 284.4 thousand rubles, published 73 articles in journals indexed by Web of Science and Scopus, created 13 inventions, obtained 13 patents and 5 certificates for computer programs, 1 doctoral dissertation was defended.
Also in the reporting year, staff of RIT named after. S.P. Kapitsa received a total amount of 33 million rubles in the framework of 21 grants of the Russian Federal Property Fund.
Research work is carried out in the abovementioned areas in close cooperation with the departments of the Engineering and Physics Faculty of High Technologies.
The main areas of research work at the Faculty are fundamental research in the field of physics (astrophysics and cosmology; physical processes in complex systems — disordered semiconductors, low-dimensional quantum systems; magnetodynamics, magneto-optics and optics of active waveguide structures; nanooptics; inhomogeneous materials and semiconductor structures based on them) and applied research for high technology production. Employees of the faculty carry out 1 project in the framework of the state assignment and 1 contract for a total amount of 1.4 million rubles. Also, faculty members received support for their research in the framework of 6 RFBR grants of 4.7 million rubles.
The results of the scientific work of this team are presented in 16 publications indexed in the world's leading scientific citation databases Web of Science and Scopus, and 2 monographs, 13 applications for registration of results of intellectual activity have been submitted, 4 patents and 8 certificates of registration of computer programs have been obtained, 2 PhD theses have been defended.
