Funding
Basic and applied scientific researches, developmental and technological projects at university are carried out within the State assignment of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for performance of research work, federal target and departmental scientific programs, and also at the expense of grants and off-budget funds.
In 2015 USU implemented projects within:
- the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 218 "About measures of the state support for development of cooperation of the Russian higher educational institutions and the organizations realizing complex projects on establishing hi-tech production" together with JSC SRC INR (chief executive — Svetukhin V. V.);
- the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 220 "Grant of the Government of the Russian Federation for the state support of the scientific researches conducted under the guidance of the leading scientists in Russian educational institutions of higher education" (chief executive — O.G. Okhotnikov);
- the federal target program «Researches and Development in the Priority Areas of Development of the Scientific and Technological Complex of Russia for 2014–2020.»;
— The Russian Federal Property Fund in 2018 supported 14 projects, also in 2016 USU researchers carried out projects on 14 grants of the Russian State Scientific Fund.
For the first time in 2016 USU researchers received the funding for their researches in the framework of the RFP contest (scientific advisor — Sysolyatin A.A.)
Modernization and equipment procurement of the Research facilities in the framework:
- «New Personnel for Defense and Industrial Complex» programs;
- Programs of USU strategic development for 2014–2020.
In total in 2018 190,7 million rubles was allocated to carry out researches and develop USU instrument base.
In 2016 by the order of the enterprises and the organizations of real sector of economy 19 research and experimental design projects for the sum of 13,0 million rubles were implemented.
Material and technical base of research activity
The total balance cost of the research equipment of USU amounts to 191 million rubles. Generally the modern measuring and analytical equipment for conducting scientific researches is concentrated in the following divisions:
1. at S. P. Kapitsa Research Institute, including the Center of «Radiation-material science», laboratories of materials science and tests, probe and electronic microscopy, modeling of behavior of inorganic materials, solid-state electronics, chemical analysis laboratory, laboratory of molecular and cellular biology. More than 155 devices and measuring benches have been worked out by the division.
2. at the Competence Center «Aviation Technologies and Aviation Mobility».
3. at the Institute of Medicine, Ecology and Physical culture, including the Medical and Biological Research Center.
These divisions in 2016 implemented 96% of the applied sciences projects and more than 90% of total amount of research work.
The main source of developing the material and resource base (MRB) in 2016 was the USU Program of Strategic Development financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The volume of expenses on development of MRB was 27,33 million rubles from this program. To implement research projects in the field of "Development of new technical solutions for complex modernization and development of production of reactor radionuclides” in JSC Research center of Nuclear Reactors the special equipment for the sum of 31,0 million rubles was purchased.
