Programs for students.
More than seven thousand caring people from different countries gathered at the International Forum of Volunteers in Sochi, dedicated to Volunteer Day. The event was attended by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Veronika Skvortsova, who said that at present, when applying to a residency program, universities take into account the volunteer experience of the applicants.
The awarding ceremony of winners and prize-winners of the competition in 2019 was held at the forum. The Deputy Minister of Health of Russia Oleg Salagai and the head of Rosmolodezh Alexander Bugaev awarded the winners. The best teams received certificates to purchase the necessary materials for more effective volunteering.
The organizing committee evaluated the variety of formats of the project “School of a volunteer-medic” in the regions, the effectiveness of training, the possibility of extending experience to other subjects of the country, and public outcry. According to the results of the competition, the Ulyanovsk regional branch of the movement was recognized as the winner.
“Currently, the regional office is made up of more than 900 volunteers. These are schoolchildren, college students, the Faculty of Medicine, residents, young health care professionals and experienced doctors, and elderly people are actively joining us, because everyone can be a medical volunteer, ”said Kristina Antonova, the regional coordinator of the All-Russian Public Movement.
