The Moscow Government hosted the awarding ceremony of the winners  of the youth project contest established by USU together with the NFPT and the Union of Rehabilitologists of Russia. Some projects involved the creation of products that have no analogues not only in Russia, but also abroad. The competition was dedicated to the search and promotion of the most promising developments in the field of medical and non-medical rehabilitation. The participants were students, graduate students, doctors under the age of 35  from all the regions of the country, and the nominations covered the full range of issues of improving the medical rehabilitation system. More than half of the projects are already at the implementation stage, one third of them have received patents for invention.
For one and a half months, young scientists sent their work to get an expert assessment. Twelve projects were selected for the internal part of the contest, which were assessed by an expert jury.
This year, the focus was not so much on scientific research, but on design technology aimed at obtaining a practice-oriented result. The idea of such an approach was born during the All-Russian conference with international participation “Nexus Medicus”: “Modern approaches to rehabilitation issues”, held in Ulyanovsk in November 2018. USU was chosen as the organizer.
According to Nargisy Valamat-Zade, head of the international programs and network programs of the NFP, the result of this competition is not only in the most interesting and well-developed projects of the winners, but also in support of the modern-minded, active and creative youth,  who lay the future of the country.
Galina Ivanova, Chairman of the Union of Rehabilitologists of Russia, highly appreciated the level of the contest, thanked the NFPT and USU for serious work, and expressed the hope that in the new year all universities will take part in the competition. The next rehabilitation contest will be international.
