The first regional scientific and technical conference “Physics studies of the RFFR for the region” has been held at USU
The event was attended by the winners of the regional grant contest organized by the Russian Foundation for Fundamental Research and the Government of the Ulyanovsk Region. There are about twenty of them in the region.
About twenty scientists from USU, USTU and the Ulyanovsk branch of the Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics named after V.A. Kotelnikov of the Russian Academy of Sciences made their presentations at the meeting. According to the chairman of the section, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor Viktor Golovanov, it is in these institutions that the concentration of fundamental research in the field of physics is concentrated. By the number of the winning projects in this area, the flagship university of the region is confidently taking the lead.
“All the speakers are well-known researchers: theorists and experimenters, PhD and doctors of science - major experts who manage projects. After large-scale preparatory activities in the field of theory, models, mechanisms, equipment, in two or three years of implementation, they actually came to the stage of the applied application of research results. The range of application is very wide: medicine, electronics, construction, nuclear industry, safety, new technologies in obtaining materials and much more. This is the uniqueness of today’s conference. It differs from a merely scientific one, where the discussion takes place. Today we saw tangible results of research and the possibilities of their practical application. I am sure that the teams will continue to develop, exchange staff and their experience” said Viktor Golovanov.
In the framework of the scientific-practical conference “Science for the Region”, which has been held for the first time this year in the Ulyanovsk region, the results of this work were presented not only by physicists, but also by mechanics, biologists, and representatives of the humanities.
