On June 30, USU honored new MBA graduates in a special ceremony, which was scheduled to coincide with an alumni reunion dedicated to the 5th-year anniversary of MBA program at USU.

The celebration drew a large number of former and current students, faculty members, senior administrators and local business leaders.

While speaking about the history of MBA education in Russia, director of USU Institute of Economics, prof. Evgeny Bely reminded that the first programs appeared in Russia in the late nineties at leading higher educational institutions in Moscow. Ulyanovsk universities have offered MBA training since 2004.

During the 2 years in the program students acquire advanced management skills for various spheres of economy, industries and property types, learn about innovative management techniques applicable to enterprises of various sizes, master strategic analysis and strategies formation patterns for successful business leadership and apply their skills in practice during internships abroad.

The numerous friendly ties that USU has established with institutions in the USA, Germany, Czech Republic, China, Korea and Italy provide a great opportunity for MBA learners to exchange ideas and experience with foreign colleagues.

In addition to MBA diplomas and internship certificates earned during a recent trip to a Chinese partner institution, Jiangnan University, the graduates were awarded special golden pins of Business Masters’ Guild.

In his address to MBA graduates, USU president Yury Polyanskov expressed hope that the expertise they received over the course of study would help further spur economic development of Ulyanovsk region.
