USU gets additional 73 spaces funded from the budget
In the 2020-2021 academic year, Ulyanovsk State University got 73 budget-funded spaces in addition to 1501. And a few days earlier, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation completed the process of distributing admission control figures (budget spaces) for the 2021/22 academic year.
The corresponding order was signed by Minister Valery Falkov. For the 2021/22 academic year, the total number of established budget-funded spaces was 576.4 thousand, of which 33.7 thousand are additional budget-funded spaces for bachelor and specialist degree programs allocated in pursuance of the message of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly of January 15, 2020. Commenting on the results of the distribution of spaces funded from the budget, Valery Falkov said: "In general, the country will increase budget-funded spaces by 9%." He also added that the increase in the number of spaces will occur annually till 2024. According to the minister, the rise in the number of spaces funded from the budget in 2021 will contribute to the growth of the number of specialists in demand on the market. Also, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia notes that 70% of budget-funded places are allocated to regional universities.
