Employment issues are in the limelight of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia
Representatives of the USU administration participated in a webinar on promoting employment of students and employment of graduates which was held by Valery Falkov, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The pre-eminent university of the Ulyanovsk region was represented by Boris Kostishko, the Rector of USU, Tatyana Kirillova, Vice-Rector for External relations and Youth policy, Dmitry Shabalkin, Vice-Rector for Innovative development.
Valery Falkov called for the rectors of Russian universities to pay close attention to the issue of employment of students and graduates. The Minister said that specialized career centers at higher educational institutions, which help graduates in finding jobs and further employment, are an important tool for promoting employment.
Deputy Minister Elena Druzhinina said about the need to create programs to promote the employment of graduates, whose main task is to create a professional path and promote employment, as well as organize practical training and professional internships for students.
Today, assistance in the issue of employment of graduates of Russian universities continues to be provided by the Sirius Educational Center, where various programs are being implemented to support the careers of students and graduates of Russian universities. During the meeting, the head of the center, Elena Shmelyova, came up with a proposal to create a new mechanism for involving talented youth in work on the urgent tasks of Russian science and business within the framework of the program “Sirius. Summer”.
At the end of the webinar, Valery Falkov announced a new job placement program for graduates of various levels of education for starting research positions at universities.
