USU Rector participates in the Forum of the Federation of Rectors of Russian and Arab Universities
The second forum of a similar format takes place in Moscow. Addressing colleagues, the Rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy said: “Today, in the era of globalization, it is important to remember that European and Arab universities are connected by close historical ties. The university movement was originally a single community. Let me remind you that the names of many sciences, many terms came to us from the Arab world, for example, the words "algebra", "algorithm". About 200 rectors and representatives of Arab and Russian universities participate in the event. Rector of USU Boris Kostishko made a presentation on the experience of cooperation between the university and Arab countries. Today, nearly 700 students from Arab countries are studying at USU. The most popular areas of training are "Medical care" and "Oil and Gas Engineering". Boris Mikhailovich made a proposition to set up an association under the Russian Union of Rectors to coordinate the activities of universities in Russia and Arab countries.
