The Ulyanovsk region joins the Vernadsky Scientific and Educational Consortium
2019-10-12 17:26

The chairman of the Council of Rectors of the Ulyanovsk Region, USU Rector Boris Kostishko took part in the signing ceremony of an agreement with Moscow State University on the Moscow venue of the XIV All-Russian Festival Nauka 0+. The document was signed by the President of the Russian Union of Rectors, Rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy and Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov.

The Vernadsky program is one of the concepts for the development of national science, proposed and implemented by Viktor Sadovnichy. Its goal is to strengthen the scientific and educational space at the national level, promote the development of science and economy in the regions and maximize the potential of all citizens of the country. “We understand the responsibility that we have before scientists, and plan to make every effort for the proper implementation of this memorandum” said Sergey Morozov, the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region at the opening ceremony of the festival in the Fundamental Library of Moscow State University.

Close cooperation between Moscow State University and the Ulyanovsk region began more than 30 years ago - from the moment of setting up the first affiliate of Moscow State University in Ulyanovsk, now Ulyanovsk State University. It is evident that USU will become a key participant in the interaction envisaged by membership in the Vernadsky consortium.

Participation in the Vernadsky project opens up new opportunities and prospects for the scientific community to exchange experience, prepare key personnel that determine the level of teaching and research, build up the scientific, methodological and experimental base and fulfillment of our students and young scientists.

We would like to remind that this year the prospects for implementing the Vernadsky project were discussed at the International Forum “Universities, Society and the Future of Mankind”, which was attended by the USU rector.
