In the framework of the investment development objectives of the Inza
special socio-economic development area, Ulyanovsk State University began
active scientific and technological cooperation with the Danish company Scamol,
which carries out a full cycle of production of heat-insulating diatomite
bricks at the Skamol Rus plant in Inza.
From July 8 to July 10, leading Scamol specialists
and scientists from USU in Ulyanovsk, in Inza and in Dimitrovgrad discussed
areas of cooperation and joint projects. It should be pointed out that the main
domestic customer of Scamol Rus products is the Russian aluminum giant RUSAL.
Under the strategic partnership agreement, USU and Scamol are going to develop
a comprehensive program of scientific and technical cooperation in the areas of
quality improvement, expanding the range of products, introducing automation
and mechanization systems, and training technical specialists at USU with
internships at Scamol enterprises. One of the program participants is the
strategic industrial partner of USU, the Sosny research and production company
(Dimitrovgrad), which has extensive experience and unique competencies in the
design and manufacture of non-serial equipment.
“The development program of the flagship
university of the Ulyanovsk region has been replenished with another
interesting scientifically, technically, and economically meaningful long-term
project with a European partner,” summed up the Vice-Rector for Research and
Information Technologies of USU Victor Golovanov.
