A meeting of the Presidium of the regional organization of the Trade Union of Public Education and Science Workers of the Russian Federation in the USU history museum
For the first time, at the initiative of teachers and staff of the flagship
university, the meeting has been held at the University. In addition to the
official part, the program of the event comprised an excursion from the head of the museum, Galina Kruglova.
Trade union members were told about the history of
Ulyanovsk State University and the work of the contemporary Russian writer – a native
of the Ulyanovsk region Nikolay Naryshkin.
As the organizers noted, it was he who, at the beginning of 2000, convinced the regional administration to create a memorial zone in Yazykovo and headed the organizing committee to prepare the celebration of the 200th anniversary of N.M. Yazykov. After a long break in 2003 and the following years, the poetry festival was held at the Pushkin Manor Holiday, which today is one of the most anticipated events of the summer.
This year the Pushkin holiday was held on June 9 in Yazykovsky Park and was dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the poet’s birth. A biographical exposition on the life and work of the honorary citizen of the Karsun District, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan, Honorary Professor of the Institute for Culture of the World (UNESCO) N.V. Naryshkin. The exposition began its work on March 28 as part of the exhibition “Successors of the Great Victory”.
