Participants of the conference “Intercultural communication in a multilingual environment” held at USU discuss problems of linguistics
Ulyanovsk State University hosted the international conference
“Intercultural Communication in a Multilingual Environment”, organized by the teachers
of the Institute of International Relations, the Linguistic and Cultural Center
of Antoine de Saint-Exupery and the USU History Museum with the support of the
Russian Oxford Foundation. Representatives of Moscow universities: director of
the International Center for Francophone Studies, head of the UNESCO department
“Intercultural dialogue and social interaction” of Moscow State Linguistic
University Natalia Egorova and assistant professor of the Philology Department of
the Russian University of Peoples’ Friendship, head of the French-Russian “Posidelki”
club Tatyana Evsikova were the partners to assist in holding the conference .
The conference was opened by Svetlana Borisova, the
director of the Institute of International Relations. The event united the work
of several sessions devoted to the heritage of Antoine de Saint-Exupery in
Russia, the study of French in secondary and higher educational institutions,
as well as the linguistic features of the translation of works of art. Teachers,
undergraduates and students of Ulyanovsk State University, Moscow State
Linguistic University, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Ulyanovsk
Institute of Civil Aviation, Ulyanovsk Pedagogical University, as well as
English teacher of the linguistic gymnasium Lidia Golubeva, teacher of the
French language of the Simbirsk gymnasium “Dar”, French citizen Alexander
Desremo, DAAD lecturer Mario Radermacher presented their talks at the
During the conference, a teleconference with the University of Instbourne was held. Phil Langridge, Director of “Global Students”, spoke about educational opportunities in the UK and scholarship programs. Ulyanovsk schoolgirls Sofia Toroptseva and Daria Filippovskaya shared their experience in having their practical training program in England.
An agreement was reached on the cooperation of the IIR with the UNESCO Chair of Moscow State Linguistic University and the preparation of a framework agreement on the interaction of the linguacultural center of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry UlSU with the Cultural Center of the Peoples’ Friendship University in the area of francophone research.
