Scientists from twelve regions discuss issues of information security at USU
A joint meeting of the Council of the Training
and Methodological Center for the Protection of Information of the Volga
Federal District and the regional branch of the Educational and Methodical
Association of Higher Educational Institutions of the Russian Federation on
Information Security Education in the Volga Federal District was held at the flagship
Representatives of educational organizations from
Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg, Yoshkar-Ola, Samara, Ufa, Kazan, Kirov, Izhevsk, Cheboksary,
Penza and Saratov assembled in Ulyanovsk to attend the meeting, which is
related to information and computer security, information protection in
computer systems, protection of programs and data - associate professors,
professors, deans of faculties of telecommunications, heads of information
security departments, Vice-Rectors for general issues and security provision.
A total of 47 people participated in the meeting of the Council, including 7 representatives of USU: Alexander Andreyev, Head of the Department of Information Security and Control Theory, Maxim Volkov, Dean of FMIAT; Andrei Ivantsov, Associate Professor at the Institute of Instrument Engineering, Dmitry Shabalkin, Advisor of the Rector’s Office of Ulyanovsk State University; Senior Lecturer of the ISCT Department Andrei Klochkov, Professor of the ISCT Chair Sergey Ratseyev.
The next day, a seminar was held at USU on the security of the critical information infrastructure with the authorities and organizations of the Ulyanovsk region, the participants of the meeting of the Council of the MA. In addition to the abovementioned guests, students of the programs of information and computer security took part in the seminar.
