Ulyanovsk State University hosts a meeting of the Industrial Policy Council in the Ulyanovsk Region
During the event the participants discussed the
results of industrial development in 2018, key challenges and prospects, as
well as support for industrial enterprises in the municipalities of the region.
Presentations were made by the Deputy Chairman of
the State Duma Committee for Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development
and Entrepreneurship, Vladimir Gutenyov, a representative of the Ministry of
Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Georgy Dzhuraev, Vice-Rector for
Perspective Projects of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, the governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey
Morozov. Boris Kostishko, Rector of USU, spoke about the university’s
cooperation with enterprises.
Federal experts praised the region highly. “The Ulyanovsk region has become among a small number of subjects of the Russian Federation, about which the President says that they are advanced, to some extent they are even reference ones, since other subjects should pay attention to their experience,” said Vladimir Gutenyov.
A quadripartite strategic partnership agreement was signed at the meeting between the Ulyanovsk region, the flagship university, the autonomous non-profit organization “Agency for Technological Development of the Ulyanovsk Region” and the Association “Technet”. In addition, Ulyanovsk State University, the Agency for Technological Development of the Ulyanovsk Region and the Technet Association signed a tripartite cooperation agreement.
“Our agreement testifies to uniting competencies, experience, and efforts to solve those tasks that are important primarily for the region. We have been cooperating with the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant for many years and, of course, we will continue this work, including the introduction of these competencies into the learning process of Ulyanovsk University. With the leadership of the university we have already outlined the first steps. By joining forces with the Agency for Technological Development, we will be able to help enterprises solve problems that, for a number of reasons, may cause difficulties” said Alexei Borovkov, the co-leader of the Technet working group of the National Technology Initiatives at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.
