Governor Sergey Morozov visits the USU Competence Center “Digital Economy”
The regional competence center “Digital Economy”
was opened at the flagship university in September. It was set up as part of
the implementation of the agreement, which was signed by Viktor Sadovnichy, the Rector of Moscow State University and
Governor Sergei Morozov. The work of the center is aimed at shaping future competences,
including the development of virtual and augmented reality, blockchain-based
solutions, and the design of neural interfaces.
According to Dmitry Shabalkin, a university adviser,
the key project of the center is a workshop of digital transformation
competencies: “The volume of the IT market will increase due to fundamentally
new products and technologies. The project will contribute to the formation of
a new IT business in the region, as well as allow students, teachers, employees
of companies to expand their skills. ”
For the work of the center, a project educational space has been created that is accessible to students throughout the academic day. Starting in February, the training programs “Products and Technologies of Virtual and Augmented Reality”, “Products and Technologies of Distributed Registry Systems” start here. They provide lectures and master classes of national leaders in the field of VR / AR and blockchain, hackathons, individual training, “assembly” and project promotion.
Last year, more than 600 students of USU and USAU named after P.A. Stolypin listened to a thematic cycle of lectures.
