The Academy of Media Education opens its doors for schoolchildren: the first classes with a specialized journalistic class were conducted at USU.
November 1, the first classes were conducted at the media center of Ulyanovsk State University with students of secondary school number 42 of Ulyanovsk.
Ignatieva, associate professor of the journalism department, opened the course
“Journalism as a“ fourth power ”: the social image and the essence of the
profession” for schoolchildren. What
is modern journalism, what are the features of mass information, channels of
its transmission, methods of collecting and distributing news - students
received answers to these and other professional questions in the framework of
an interactive lecture-press conference. Having
taken part in an experiment game, the schoolchildren learned about how
information is transformed in long communication chains.
During the meeting, an excursion was conducted for schoolchildren in the USU media center. The schoolchildren learned how the television studio for learning works, got acquainted with the peculiarities of the preparation and release of television programs, specialized multimedia equipment.
Associate Professor O.V. Ignatieva told schoolchildren about the history of USU, the rules of admission, invited them to the Open Days, answered questions about the features of the organization of the educational process in higher education, and also presented the University’s project “Academy of Media Education”.
