MSU and USU Rectors have signed the cooperation agreement
The cooperation agreement between Lomonosov Moscow State University and Ulyanovsk State University was signed on July 18 in Moscow. The agreement was signed by academician Viktor Sadovnichy, the Rector of MSU and professor Boris Kostishko, the Rector of USU. The major areas of cooperation between the preeminent university of the country and the flagship university of the Ulyanovsk region were determined as the following: the assistance in exchanges of scientists, graduate students and senior students, mutual cooperation in raising pedagogical and scientific qualifications of teachers and researchers, the provision of detailed information on methodological textbooks, curricula, publications and research materials; sharing experience in developing advanced methods of teaching and technologies as well as bilateral symposia, seminars and conferences.
Ulyanovsk State University is the youngest university in the city. Its history started in February 1988 from the decree of the Soviet of USSR Ministers to open the first subsidiary of Lomonosov Moscow State University in Ulyanovsk. The subsidiary of Lomonosov Moscow State University was reorganized in Ulyanovsk State University by the decree of the President of the RF on December 1995. Traditions and education quality of Moscow State University introduced in USU for the years of joint work largely determined the character of development of a new classical university on the Volga, its high standard of education and scientific potential that enabled it to reach the key positions in educational and scientific space of Russia during a short period of time.
