An anti-terrorist lecture has been held at USU for international students
A lecture was held at Ulyanovsk State University for international students dedicated to the prevention of terrorism and extremism. The lecture was held on May, 30. It was attended by international students from India, Palestine, Egypt, Nigeria and a number of other countries. The event was conducted in two languages- Russian and English (because part of the educational process is provided in English for international students). The topic of the lecture is “The counteraction of extremist and terrorist organization’s recruitment activity”. The event was conducted by Andrei Tvorogov, a co-founder of the Ulyanovsk regional public organization - the Center for the prevention of the spread of the terrorism and extremism ideology” and the invited guest, Imam Ibrahim (Zheleznodorozhny district) who knows Arabic and lived in Egypt and other Islamic countries for some time. Andrei spoke with the students about the main types of recruitment by terrorist and extremist organizations. He also spoke why this problem was so important for the Ulyanovsk region. Imam Ibrahim spoke about the types of sects and their influence on society. He also addressed the listeners with the sermon of eternal values – the family, marriage and traditions, having emphasized that these values are the best remedy for extremism. We would like to remind that the cycle of lectures to prevent terrorism and extremism has been held in Ulyanovsk for the second year running. More than two thousand students of almost all universities and specialized schools of the city have become the listeners for this time.
