Students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology take part in the international hackathon jHack

The first international hackathon jHack was launched by Ulyanovsk State University, together with  Niederrhein University, Krefeld (Germany). At the meeting of Kostishko BM., the Rector of Ulyanovsk State University and Mr. Hans-Henning Grünberg the President of Niederrhein University at the end of 2017 it was decided to expand the range of joint activities carried out by universities in the framework of the interuniversity cooperation agreement. The joint work of the faculties of information technology of the two universities will be realized during a two-month hackathon jHack, based on the development of applications using the Java programming language. The hackathon start was given on April 23 in Germany. 7 students of various study programs at the faculty of mathematics, information and aviation technologies of  USU took part in its work. Together with the students of Niederrhein Higher Technical School, 3 international teams of 5 students were formed. Within the hackaton, each team will have to develop its own application in the following areas: Secure distributed information storage with transparent access; Project management system for the development of distributed commands; System for checking the laboratory work of students in various programming languages ​​and various databases. The final stage of the hackathon is planned for the end of June 2018 and will be held at Ulyanovsk State University, where all the projects will be demonstrated and their defense will be held.
The main goal of this hackathon is to obtain practical experience of students' interaction in international teams, as well as to solve technical problems from "scratch" to the start of industrial operation.
