2018-05-07 08:46

The USU team has become the best in the annual military-patriotic game for youth "Ulyanovets-2018". Ten students of the Faculty of Dual Degree Programs demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of military and sports disciplines.  Rector Boris Kostishko personally thanked the students and handed them the certificates of honor. Students competed in running, pulling up, throwing grenades, knowledge of weapons, shooting from pneumatic rifles, rendering first aid, and assistance in case of natural disasters.

"We have built the team this year," said Oleg Zhukov, a first year student  of the FDDP. - I myself play laser tag, so I decided to unite the guys who might also be interested in this. The training course took a month. We contacted the military-patriotic club of USU, we were given a lot of help. Several representatives of the team were having training at the Center for Medicine and Disasters. A paramedic gave us classes who taught the basics of first aid.

The goal of the game is to provide the spiritual and moral, military-patriotic education of youth, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and the preparation of the youth of pre-conscription age for service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. This year the competitions were timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Red Army and the 73rd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Representatives of enterprises and organizations of the city younger than 35 could participate  in them.
