A meeting with foreign university teachers on Teachers’ Day at USU
In a friendly warm atmosphere during tea drinking, the specialists of the
Institute for International Relations and the International Relations
Department talked with teachers from America, Germany and China, who work at USU
at present. Colleagues spoke about the implementation of new projects and
cooperation, in addition, the guests shared their impressions of their stay in
Russia. Yvonne Perzgen, the lecturer of the
German Academic Exchange Service, the teacher of the German language was the
first to speak one about her life in Ulyanovsk. Yvonne is not the first year in
Ulyanovsk she noted the friendliness of local residents and the commitment of
students. "I'm very pleased that the students are interested in the DAAD
programs and want to take practical training in Germany," Yvonne says.
Vera, with this Russian name prefers to call herself Li Xuebin, the teacher from the People's Republic of China was the next to speak. As Olga Mironcheva, the Deputy Director of IIR noted, the students are very satisfied with the work of the new teacher, and the teachers of the institute are eagerly waiting for the beginning of the Chinese language classes. Vera expressed her gratitude to the flagship university for its promptness and constant readiness to help. "This is my first visit to Russia, but it certainly is not the last!" - the Chinese girl said.
Brianna Philpot , the teacher from the USA spoke at the end of the meeting. She has arrived in Russia very recently, and so she did not have time to get acquainted with the city, but noted that Ulyanovsk was very similar to her native Somerset and she feels comfortable here. At the meeting, the idea was voiced to arrange an international festival at the recreation camp of Ulyanovsk State University "Chaika" with the participation of USU students and teachers of the Institute of International Relations.
