The flagship university hosts the WorldSkills Championship
11-13, Ulyanovsk State University will host the WorldSkills Championship in
two skills: Graphic design and CAD Engineering (CAD).
WorldSkills is an international non-profit movement whose goal is to enhance the prestige of working professions and develop mastery skills. From traditional crafts to multidisciplinary professions in the field of industry and services in the 75 participating countries, WorldSkills has a direct impact on the growth of vocational education around the world. WorldSkills Championships are held every two years in different countries, they are attended by young qualified workers, students of universities and colleges under the age of 22 as participants, and well-known professionals, specialists, masters of industrial training and mentors - as experts, which assess the fulfillment of the task.
Contestants are selected in regional professional championships in 75 member countries of WorldSkills. They demonstrate their technical abilities, individual and team qualities, solving problems that are as close to the real ones as possible. The result of the team's performance speaks not only about the personal qualities of participants, but also about the level of professional training and the general level of quality of services in the native country of participants.
The WorldSkills University Championship at USU will be held at the Faculty of Mathematics, Information and Aviation Technologies and the Educational and Laboratory Building "Digital Production". The opening ceremony will be held on September 11 at 9.00 in classroom 703, building № 1 on the Sviyaga Embankment.
