August the 12th is Physical Culturist’s Day
Dear sportsmen, coaches, lovers of physical culture and veterans of the sports movement! I cordially congratulate you on this wonderful holiday that has already grown out of the professional scope and has become the national one and one of the favorite! For several recent years we have been paying special attention to the development of sports accessible to all ages and generations. We want to raise a healthy generation which after 5-7 years will represent the region at international competitions. Moreover, we have got everything for it. Sport gyms are being renovated at educational institutions, swimming pools are being built, modern sports and fitness complexes are erected one after another that give a lot of opportunities. Play grounds have sprouted up almost in every yard. Such attention did not go unnoticed at the federal level. The Ulyanovsk region has become the centre of holding many prestigious tournaments. Residents and guests of the region still have pleasant memories of the Russian Hockey Championship that had a great success. Not less important sport competitions in Non-Olympic sports that lie ahead will be held. The residents of Ulyanovsk anticipate the upcoming events timed to coincide Physical Culturist’s Day. Next year the World Games of Martial Arts will draw spectators’ attention. It is pleasant that Ulyanovsk sportsmen maintain and strengthen traditions of resounding victories that have been created by the previous generations. For example, Viktor Oblomkov’s , our fellow compatriot’s golden medal victory in the first Deaf Olympic Games has become a good present for Physical Culturist’s Day. Anna Krasnova has won a silver medal in the European Wrestling competition. We believe in success and wait for our great sportsmen’s other triumphs to come.
Dear friends! With all my heart I wish you happiness, well-being and new victories!
Governor of the Ulyanovsk region
