USU expands faculty exchanges
2008-12-12 18:49 The current academic year at USU sees an increased number of faculty members involved in academic exchanges.

Two USU teachers will spend the 2008–2009 year at Chinese partner institutions: Elena Vasko of the arts school has been invited to teach choreography at Jiangnan University in Wuxi, where she stayed the first half of the previous academic year, and Olga Polyakova of the Russian language department is teaching Russian at Heilongjian University in Harbin.

One of the three most prominent Russian language centers in China, Heilongjian University has for the second year in a row sent a post-graduate student to teach Chinese at USU in a recently established optional course offered free of charge to linguistics students. The new teacher, Tang Shi, last year’s Helongjian graduate, will stay in Ulyanovsk over the course of the current academic year, just as her predecessor, Liang Yan.

Another opportunity to enjoy classes taught by a native speaker has been offered this year to students of Russian-German Faculty, who will be mastering their German language skills under the guidance a DAAD lecturer, Doris Dold.
