USU establishes formal ties with Mongolian University of Science and Technology
A cooperative agreement between Ulyanovsk State University and Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST) was signed during an official visit of USU delegation to Ulan-Bator on June 1 - 5.
USU vice rector for international relations Tatiana Nikitina and director of admissions Valery Romanov toured MUST campus and met the university administration to discuss the particulars of future collaboration, which is expected to include academic, cultural and information exchanges.
The new partner university is one of the largest educational institutions in Mongolia enrolling over 20 000 students and comprising 17 schools, 3 research institutes and 36 scientific centers. It has been part of the Bologna process since the late 90-s and currently offers Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees in a variety of programs ranging from engineering to economics to foreign languages.
Collaborative projects in the most immediate future may include an international cultural forum at USU that will bring together participants from Asian countries, such as Japan, Korea, Mongolia and China.
