USU hosts first exchange participants from China
A teacher of Chinese from Heilongjiang University http://www.hlju.edu.cn and four Russian language majors from Hunan Normal University www.hunnu.edu.cn/english have become the first representatives of China People’s Republic on USU campus.
The teacher of Chinese, Liang Yan, will spend this academic year at USU helping beginners master her native language.
Enrolment in the Chinese language course, which starts in November, is open to anyone interested. However, the majority of learners are expected to be students from the faculty of linguistics, who will be able to take the course at no cost, as an extra-curricular activity.
Liang Yan is part of the academic exchange agreement signed between USU and Heilongjiang in May 2002.
The four female students from Hunan Normal University will spend one academic year at USU working on their Russian language skills. Cong E, Liu Fenfen, Yang Tingting and Li Xianru completed two years at their home institution and were selected to travel to Ulyanovsk as part of the academic exchange agreement signed last May.
